Being a mother of boys and getting ready for with a baby about to start her crawling adventures, I realized that my living room needed a makeover. The TV media stand with shelves, which seemed practical at first had turned into a mess with game controllers, cords and precious photo books, vulnerable to curious little hands. So I decided to take matters into my hands and embarked on a DIY project. My goal was to create an more stylish space that not catered to our gaming needs but also reflected my love for the coastal aesthetic.
A Cluttered Dilemma
With my boys engrossed in their gaming the controllers and cords everywhere, the open shelves on my TV media stand had turned into a mess. Even the precious photo books were at risk of being damaged in their quest for gaming dominance. I wanted to make sure that cords were kept safe and prevent our baby’s hands from getting into any trouble.
The Game-Changing Outcome
The change was truly revolutionary. The updated TV stand not only solved the issues of organizing cables and controlling devices but also brought a sense of peace to the living area. The coastal atmosphere along with the storage compartments made the room visually pleasing and secure.
Here’s How We did It
After building each cabinet, we used a handheld saw to cut holes for all of our cords.
We made sure to cut holes at the bottom AND at the top.
We then started stringing all of our cords from our Wi-Fi cables and the gaming systems through…
